When will I be paid?
GearSource Payments System manages incoming and outgoing payments for our customers, in the currency of the user - both Buyer and Seller.
Payment timelines are based on the Tier level of your Seller account. If you are a Standard Tier Seller, which is the most common level, payouts are released post delivery and inspection.
Here's how the flow works:
- Buyer finds the items they are looking for, adds them to the shopping cart and checks out;
- Shipping costs, fees, and taxes are applied. If Shipping costs are not calculating automatically due to the complexity of the order or the destination, our logistics team will step in and source a shipping price, update the order and notify the Buyer;
- Buyer pays for the order using their preferred payment method of credit card (for orders less than $5000) or bank transfer in their currency of origin or preference. Note: GearSource payment services are provided by Airwallex, who provide secure, efficient, and low-cost international payments and multi-currency solutions.
- When the payment lands, clears and settles, the funds are managed and distributed by the Payment Service Provider (PSP) automatically.
- credit card payments require a minimum of 2 additional banking days to clear, from the time the transaction is recorded by the PSP;
- bank transfers take 1-3 banking days, depending on the country of origin, destination and currency;
- US domestic ACH payments take 5-7 banking days to clear before funds will be available to release.
- Once payments clear and settle, the Marketplace fees and taxes are distributed to GearSource, the Shipping fees (if not handled by the seller) are distributed to the Carrier, and the Seller's remaining payout is distributed to the Seller through their secure Wallet for release when the terms of their Tier Agreement are met.
- All timelines referenced are estimates and are subject to disruptions outside our control, such as bank restrictions, bank holidays, shipping delays, inspections and claims. International timelines are typically 2-3 times longer than domestic (US-based) transactions.
Notes:
- If required, payments that have to be converted to another currency are done so at the foreign exchange rate captured at the time of the payment. GearSource is not responsible for any fees or exchange discrepancies due to conversions.
- Once funds clear, the Seller's funds are recorded in their "Wallet" until the order reaches the payout threshold, at which point it will release and sends the payout by local bank transfer to the account the seller created in their GearSource Account Center.
- GearSource is not responsible for delays in payment settlement times or rejected payments due to incomplete or incorrect bank information. Recipient is responsible for all bank fees.
