What are the fees or commission when selling on GearSource?

First and foremost, we don't charge anything for having an account or posting listings, so if something doesn't sell, you're only out your time. When items sell, you'll be charged two fees:

  1. Seller Fee: This fee is charged by GearSource and starts at 12% on the price of the equipment for new accounts. Once you complete at least 5 successful orders you'll be moved to a standard account, and this will drop to 10%. We also have a 7% volume account available if you meet the requirements.

  2. Payment Fee: This fee is 3.5% on the transaction total (including tax and shipping). It is a pass-thru that covers our payment process, powered by AirWallex, including payment in from the buyer, an escrow account attached to the order (your "Wallet"), payout to the seller, fraud prevention, currency conversion, and more. It is also used to cover costs related to collecting and remitting taxes on behalf of sellers, where applicable.

Therefore, you're looking at an initial (12%+3.5%) 15.5% total margin in fees for new accounts. If you'd like to get set up on a GearSource Logistics account, powered by GearMoves, we can deal with booking and managing any shipping for you. This added service increases the Seller Fee by 5%, meaning you're looking at (12+5+3.5%) 20.5% in total fees for a new GearSource Logistics account.
